The Wu Tsai Institute (WTI) at Yale University is excited to announce multiple faculty positions for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading interdisciplinary research initiative dedicated to understanding human cognition and exploring human potential.

About the Wu Tsai Institute

Founded in 2021 through a generous gift from Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai, the Wu Tsai Institute is a hub for groundbreaking research on the brain and mind. Located at 100 College Street in New Haven, WTI integrates efforts across Yale’s campuses and is structured around three core centers:

  • Center for Neurodevelopment and Plasticity
  • Center for Neurocognition and Behavior
  • Center for Neurocomputation and Machine Intelligence

These centers foster interdisciplinary collaboration through fellowships, shared research facilities, collaborative grants, and regular academic events.

WTI is seeking exceptional candidates from a wide range of disciplines, including neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, data science, computer science, and engineering. Successful applicants will receive tenure-track or tenured appointments in one or more departments within Yale’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and/or School of Medicine.

  • Research Contributions – Describe your most significant scientific discoveries and accomplishments to date. (2 pages max)
  • Research Plans – Describe the focus and goals of your future research program in a supportive environment like WTI; address how this vision aligns with the mission of WTI to understand cognition. (2 pages max)
  • Mentoring and Teaching – Describe your philosophy, experience, and plans for mentoring and teaching students. (1 page max)
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – Describe your understanding of the challenges facing underrepresented groups in science, as well as your experience, commitment, and ideas for addressing these inequities. (1 page max)
  • Curriculum Vitae – Include your most recent CV with links to publications (or website).
  • Letters of Recommendation –  If you are applying at an Assistant Professor rank (untenured), you must request three letters of recommendation by the deadline. If you are applying at an Associate or Full Professor rank (tenured), you should not request letters.
